Fragoltherm® W-PGF

Fragoltherm® W-PGF

Manufacturer Fragol® AG
Chemical name Hydrogenated terphenyls and biphenyl/diphenyl oxide
Fragoltherm® W-PGF is a clear, colorless, and nearly odorless liquid that is HT1 certified by NSF. Fragoltherm® W-PGF must not come into direct contact with food and is not a food industry additive. Furthermore, and unlike Zitrec®, Fragoltherm® W-PGF is certified Halal and Kosher, making it perfectly suitable for use in the food industry.

Fragoltherm® W-PGF is a clear, colorless, and nearly odorless liquid that is HT1 certified by NSF. Fragoltherm® W-PGF must not come into direct contact with food and is not an additive for the food industry.
Furthermore, and unlike Zitrec®, Fragoltherm® W-PGF is certified Halal and Kosher, making it perfectly suitable for use in the food industry.
Typical application areas include cooling in the beverage industry, e.g., cooling wine, beer, milk, and fruit juices. Fragoltherm® W-PGF is used in breweries to cool fermentation and aroma tanks.
Fragoltherm® W-PGF is used in bottling plants for carbonated beverages as a heat transfer fluid to prevent the liquids from cooling down. Another application area is indirect freezing. In this process, products and the heat transfer fluid are separated from each other only by a separation layer (e.g., a metal panel or packaging material). This contact cooling is primarily used for cooling fish and meat products.
Fragoltherm® W-PGF is available as a concentrate and as a finished mixture. The dilution depends on the system requirements and, above all, on the desired cooling temperature. Mixtures containing more than 60% Fragoltherm® W-PGF in water are not recommended because the physical properties deteriorate, e.g., heat transfer.
Fragoltherm® W-PGF is miscible with most conventional propylene glycol-based heat transfer fluids. However, for corrosion protection, we recommend using it without any mixing.
Fragoltherm® W-PGF is a monopropylene glycol-based heat transfer fluid.
The combination of FDA-approved ingredients, a low toxicity level, and a high corrosion inhibitor content makes Fragoltherm® W-PGF a unique product. Only a few products offer sufficient protection in copper or aluminum installations. Because copper and/or copper alloys are widely used in the food industry, Fragoltherm® W-PGF offers superior protection. Its anti-corrosion capability has been confirmed in standard and special corrosion tests.
