Thermal installations ensure the safe and controlled transfer of heat within a wide range of industrial processes, from food and pharmaceuticals to petrochemicals. A thermal installation typically consists of a primary circuit — comprising a boiler, pump(s), piping, storage tank, and expansion tank — and one or more secondary circuits that release the heat to the users, such as a reactor vessel or drying tunnel.
Safety is paramount in every thermal installation: all circuits are protected against overpressure and against excessively high or low temperatures, and the fluid flow is continuously monitored. If a pump fails, the boiler switches off automatically to prevent overheating or combustion of the thermal oil. Most installations up to 350°C are virtually pressureless, while installations operating at higher temperatures can reach pressures of up to 10 bar and sometimes even function partially in the gas phase of the liquid.
With over twenty years of experience, Rodun International advises and guides companies in the design, construction, and upgrading of thermal installations. Do you have an existing installation that is due for expansion, for example because your production capacity is growing, or does the installation need to meet new safety requirements? In that case, too, we are happy to think along with you, from a targeted adjustment to a complete redesign of your thermal system.
