Therminol® 59 is a synthetic, organic, liquid-phase thermal oil with exceptionally good low-temperature pumping characteristics and very good thermal stability, ensuring long-lasting and optimal system operation at a maximum bulk temperature of up to 315°C.
Therminol® 59 is designed for use in indirect heating systems and is capable of delivering efficient, reliable, and uniform process heating or cooling without the need for increased system pressure for the main circulation pump(s). Its excellent low-temperature characteristics down to -49°C or even lower are recommended for thermal systems that do not have steam or electric heat tracing, which keeps investment costs low. Therminol® 59 is frequently used on offshore installations in the North Sea and in installations that may or must be shut down for periods during the winter months at temperatures below freezing.
