Extrudates are cylindrical pellets of activated carbon that are made by forcing carbon paste through a die. This shape offers a perfect balance between high adsorption capacity and low pressure drop (minimal resistance to airflow).
Extrudates are preferred in gas treatment systems because they have a much larger adsorption surface area while not obstructing airflow. They are also highly resistant to mechanical wear and generate hardly any dust during operation, making them ideal for air filtration cabinets and pollution control systems.
