Hot liquids such as thermal oil, hot water, boiler water, or feed water must be sampled and analyzed regularly. It is of the utmost importance to obtain a representative and accurate sample for the analysis. Therefore, the sample must be taken at a characteristic point of the hot flow.

However, an open hot sample changes composition when it cools in an open vessel. Volatile components of the sample that boil below the oil sample temperature evaporate from open sample containers.

In the closed NESS oil sample cooler, the sample is cooled with water, and a representative and exact sample is obtained.
