Therminol® VP-1 is a thermal oil for very high temperatures and has excellent thermal stability. Therminol® VP-1 is designed for temperatures up to 400 °C and can be used in both the gas and liquid phases of a thermal system. The system requires a static pressure of about 10 bar to operate in the liquid phase at high temperatures.

Therminol® VP-1 is a thermal oil for very high temperatures and has excellent thermal stability. Therminol® VP-1 is designed for temperatures up to 400 °C and can be used in both the gas and liquid phases of a thermal system. The system requires a static pressure of about 10 bar to operate in the liquid phase at high temperatures.
Therminol® VP-1 is a eutectic mixture of 73.5% diphenyloxide (DPO) and 26.5% diphenyl (DP) and as such can be used in both gas and liquid phase systems. Gas phase operation is possible at temperatures above 275 °C. Since Therminol® VP-1 already solidifies at + 12 °C, it is important to provide the installation parts with “tracing” (heating of the piping system) to prevent the oil from solidifying in very low weather conditions.
