To secure pipes which contain hot, inflammable, corrosive or toxic fluids, especially if these pipes are operated under pressure. If a leak appears at a flange these fluids can spray and endanger the plant or harm employees.

A safe-flage around the flange offers effective protection against splashing fluids and reduces the negative consequences of a leakage.
