Therminol® LT is a synthetic organic thermal fluid. It can be used in both, the liquid and gas phase. With a boiling point of 181˚C, Therminol® LT can be used in the liquid phase from -75˚C to +181˚C at ambient temperature or above 181˚C under pressure to 315˚C.
The liquid has a flash point of +57˚C, which means that the correct fire safety measures are included in the system design. Therminol® LT offers designers and users of liquid phase systems a liquid with excellent thermal stability, free from char and sludge problems, and lower maintenance costs over a longer period of use. Therminol® LT also has excellent low temperature viscosity characteristics which provide excellent oil pumpability at very low temperatures facilitating a start up situation even at temperatures around -73°C, without the need for electrical tracing.
