DOWTHERM® J can be used in the liquid phase down to -78℃ and up to 315℃. In the vapor phase, the working range is from 181℃ to 315℃. This fluid is exceptional for the most demanding single fluid batch heating and cooling applications.
Dowtherm® J exhibits exceptional thermal stability in both the liquid and vapor phases. DOWTHERM® J heat transfer fluid offers exceptional low temperature pumpability as well as excellent thermal stability; this provides protection against accidental overheating.
Dowtherm® J heat transfer fluid has an extremely low crystal point that can completely eliminate the need for steam heating (although vent lines may still need freeze protection). Dowtherm® J exhibits great heat transfer properties, even at very low temperatures, with a viscosity of approximately 8 cps at -73℃. DOWTHERM® J heat transfer fluid can also be used in the vapor phase.
Batch processing with DOWTHERM® J heat transfer fluid eliminates system purge requirements that can be associated with steam and brine and steam and glycol systems. DOWTHERM® J heat transfer fluid is non-corrosive to metals and alloys commonly used in heat transfer systems, providing peace of mind regarding compatibility.
This product is intended for use in a pressurized, closed system with nitrogen blanket and an expansion vessel.
